Katelyn Rose King is a music practitioner and researcher working in the fields of theater, contemporary music and everywhere in-between. Her ongoing research and performance interests lie in the post-digital culture of music and theater, experimentation with electronic enhancements to percussion and concepts of feminism in trans-/post-humanistic musical art. In her solo-performance aesthetic, Katelyn weaves musical genres with instrumental (percussion) performance, extended vocal technique, electronics and bodily presence to raise questions around authorship, composition, improvisation and sound immersion. Teaching, pop-culture musicking and classical contemporary percussion performance are also parts of her musical identity. A native of Atlanta, Georgia (USA), Katelyn has been local and active in the USA, Canada, Switzerland and Austria. She currently lives in Vienna and is working towards a Doctorate Degree in Artistic Research.
